Rudy & Lydia Touzet Host Clambake on Dune Beach in Southampton : Saturday, August 26, 2006, 6:30-? PM, Dune Beach off of Meadow Lane, Southampton, New York: I stopped in a little later than planned and caught the clambake post dinner party in full swing. The gracious hospitality of Philanthropists, Lydia & Rudy Touzet and warm smiles filled this open air tent on a windy Summer evening under the stars in Southampton. While there was so much going on socially all over the Hamptons on this particular Saturday evening, the most radiant smiles were here in this intimate and picturesque setting on the beach in a scene reminiscient of the movie Love Story with this glamorous and successful couple, so clearly and truly in love with one another, hosting some of their most intimate friends. The 17th Annual Family Day "Wild, Wild West" Carnival in the Hamptons was hosted by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine National Women's Division-New York Chapter. The Family Day Carnival is the social highlight of the Hamptons summer season for the young at heart. This year, the “Wild, Wild West“ themed event was held at the Diamond Ranch in Watermill for the first time. CELEBRITY CHAIRWOMAN: Christie Brinkley CO-CHAIRWOMEN: Justine Feinberg, Tasha Genatt, Jackie Harris Hockberg, Roxanne Palin & Cathy Schwartz. Fun for everyone, the Family Day Carnival has tons of great interactive activities for kids, and plenty for parents to do too. A hub of research and teaching, the Price Center will harness technologies that hold promise for treating and eventually curing diseases such as cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, and diabetes. **This is a great organization with wonderful, compassionate and dedicated people. I highly recommend attending these events in the future. This event really stood out as one of the more uniquely themed and well run events in the Hamptons period. ***PHOTO CREDIT: ©Manhattan Society.com 2006 by Christopher London |tel: Private |e-mail: ChrisLondon@manhattansociety.com

Municipal Art Society: Presentation of the Evangeline Blashfield Award to Majora Carter : Tuesday, August 1, 2006, 6:00-8:00PM, The Municipal Art Society: "Presentation of the Evangeline Blashfield Award" to South Bronx Community activist Majora Carter at the Evangeline Blashfield Fountain, 409 East 59th Street, followed by a reception at Guastavino's Restaurant. Majora Carter, the Executive Director/Founder of Sustainable South Bronx and a 2005 recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship has been awarded the 2006 Evangeline Blashfield Award by the Municipal Art Society on this momentous evening. All of Majora’s accomplishments — and they are legion — have grown from her notion that one’s self-image is influenced by one’s surroundings, and therefore those surroundings must be beautiful. This insight is remarkably in keeping with Evangeline Blashfield’s own convictions — making it all the more appropriate that the MAS honor her with the Blashfield Award.
