The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center installed the hospital's first new holiday décor in 12 years, funded by The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation and designed by Bill Tansey. According to Roger Webster, "Two years ago, a volunteer mentioned to Jamee Gregory that the decorations were looking a bit tired. Thus, began the initiative to brighten The Center during the holidays, a time when it is especially difficult for patients and their families to be away from home." The decorations at Memorial Sloan-Kettering were installed on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Tansey's planned to festoon the eight public spaces of The Center with garlands, Christmas trees, wreathes and roping, which will create a warm traditional Victorian holiday ambiance.
