Regardless of your politics, if you have a problem with Susan Sarandon then you have a problem with humanity. God bless you Susan and keep fighting the good fight when many do not have the stomach, the voice or vision to articulate how and why we can be better people. House of Ruinart Launches Dom Ruinart in the US--Champagne Tasting Dinner at the Museum of the City of New York. : Monday, March 26, 2007, 8-11 PM, The Museum of the City of New York, New York City, NY. The House of Ruinart, the oldest champagne house in the world, launched its new “cuvée de prestige”, Dom Ruinart in the US at the Museum of the City of New York on Monday evening. The President and CEO of Ruinart, Mr. Stéphane Baschiera, hosted an exclusive and intimate champagne tasting dinner prepared by Daniel Boulud, with exquisite pairings of Dom Ruinart and Dom Ruinart Rosé Vintage 1996 champagnes. Bearing testament to Stephanie Chassing’s (the face of Ruinart) exclamation that Dom Ruinart is “the champagne of choice for luminaries in the art, literary, film and philanthropic worlds!” were guests that included Lisa Anastos, Frederick Anderson, Byrdie Bell, Fabiola Beracasa, Cristina Cuomo, French Consul General Francois Delattre, Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele, Zani Gugelmann, Douglas Hannant, Kipton Kronkite, Alexandra and Louis Rose, Josh Lucas, Matthew Modine and Cari Modine, Tinsley and Topper Mortimer, Carlos Mota, Olivia Palermo, Coralie Charriol Paul and Dennis Paul, Tatiana and Campion Platt, Leven Rambin, Euan Rellie, Patty Raynes, Tracy Stern, Carrie Underwood, Joyce Varvatos, Arden Wohl, Larry and Denise Wohl. By the end of the evening, Ruinart had converted other champagne drinkers into Ruinart drinkers. As Coralie Charriol exclaimed, “this is THE best champagne in the world – that’s why it was what we served at our wedding!” Sipping Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blanc and Rosé, guests admired and interacted with the art and fashion tableau designed and styled by Tracy Stern, in which models garbed in fabulous 17th century “haute” couture and 20th century “hot” couture (also the dress code for the evening) by Carla Gant, engaged in the arts – as they read, painted and played cello, guests such as Fabiola Beracasa, Tinsley Mortimer and Zani Gugelmann joined the set, becoming art subjects themselves as they were photographed and gifted with their portraits as a memento of the evening. The décor and ambiance reflected Ruinart’s rich heritage but modern relevance, as well as the exquisite trade dress, taste and body of Dom Ruinart. Dom Ruinart truly embodies the haute couture experience of wine and its attention to details is second to none, from the purest expression of hand-picked Chardonnay grapes to a velvet ribbon to remove the cap. Indeed, this sensibility was artfully parlayed into the fashion tableau, which reflects a couture existence; Dom Ruinart is sophisticated and extravagant, yet artistic, refined and noble, evoking the grandeur of a past era but embodying contemporary luxury which is the bespoke lifestyle.
