Thursday, June 7, 2007, Cipriani Wall Street, 55 Wall Street, New York City. Guardian Angels 2007 Annual Gala Dinner Dance: "Realizing Safety Through Education". The Guardian Angels, celebrated 28 years of service with its 2007 Gala Dinner Dance, "Realizing Safety Through Education", at Cipriani Wall Street on Thursday June 7th 2007. The event featured a special presentations by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other Distinguished Guests, Silent Auction by Steiner Sports Memorabilia, Entertainment by New York City Swing, Dinner sponsored by The Frey Family Foundation. Curtis Sliwa, Founder and CEO, Mary Sliwa COO and Executive Director, awarded this year's Guardian Angels' distinguished honorees: Archangel Lifetime Leadership Award: Simon Bergson, President and CEO, Manhattan Beer Distributors; Archangel Outstanding New Yorker Award: John Catsimatidis, Chairman and CEO, Red Apple Group/Gristedes; Guardian Angels Champion for Safety through Education Award: I. Dolly Lenz, Vice Chairman, Douglas Elliman; CyberAngel of the Year Internet Safety Award: Ed Moldaver, Senior Managing Director, Bear Stearns; Guardian Angels Spirit of New York Award: Warner Wolf, Sportscaster WABC-770 AM. These outstanding individuals and their companies support the Guardian Angel's Mission "Keeping it safe..." for our communities. This year's Dinner Chairs were: Publisher, New York Post, Paul Carlucci; Howard M. Lorber, Vector Group Ltd.; Matthew Adell, President, Adellco, LLC.; Dick Soloway, Chairman and CEO, Donna Soloway, Security Publicist and Board Member, Napco Security Systems; and Ron Hershco, President, United Homes. The Guardian Angels' Mission, "Keeping it Safe...", has evolved since the organization's inception in 1979, from community safety patrols on streets and subways to include school and family safety education programs and its Presidential Award winning Cyber Angels Program. The Guardian Angels' future visions include Web cast capabilities, and interactive site features such as Ask an Angel. Guardian Angels programs are designed to bring out the best in our youth by fostering inclusion, tolerance, kindness, civility, and volunteerism. The Guardian Angels' Star Studded 28th Anniversary Gala Dinner Dance, is the organization's major annual fundraiser. Gala support and donations allow this non-profit organization to keep its programs current, train and provide resources to volunteers, and extend a hand when individuals' rights to safety are threatened.
