TUMI Launches Alpha Collection & Partners with Matthew Modine's Bicycle For A Day
Tuesday, April 22, 2008, 6–8 p.m., The
GLASS HOUSES--Chelsea Arts Tower, 545 West 25th Street, 21st Floor, New York City, NY.
Tumi celebrated the launch of ALPHA and unveiled an exhibition of specially-commissioned photographs by
Matthew Modine, shot by the actor during his visit to a reforestation project in California funded by and administered by
American Forests’ Global ReLeaf, a
BFAD and
Tumi beneficiary. The photographs capture the beauty of the landscapes and reveal what’s behind the dollars spent on these much-talked about, little-seen projects. The images were sold through silent auction, with proceeds benefiting American Forests.
Matthew Modine has also collaborated with
Tumi executive creative director David Chu in creating a limited-edition bike bag for
Tumi, and in the design of a
BFAD dog tag. Both were debuted this evening.
HOSTS were:
David Chu, John McEnroe, Matthew Modine and Tinsley Mortimer. Guests included
Liam Neeson, Jackie Astier, Edward Bennett, Geoffrey Bradfield, Annie Churchill, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Lydia Fenet, Kimberly Guilfoyle and Eric Villency, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Fern Mallis, Alex McCord and Simon van Kempen, Miguelina, Olivia Palermo, Tatiana and Campion Platt, Gillian Hearst Simonds, Ling Tang, Vivienne Tam, Antony Todd, Annabel Vartanian.
