NEW YORK-FEBRUARY 23:
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts celebrated the
newly renovated Alice Tully Hall with a gala celebration,
“The Leading Ladies of New York Celebrate Alice Tully,” honoring today’s leading philanthropic ladies on Monday, February 23, 2009 at
Alice Tully Hall, 65th and Broadway, New York City, NY. The special gala evening commenced with Cocktails in the Morgan Stanley Lobby of
Alice Tully Hall followed by a Gala dinner in the Tent at
Damrosch Park. Under the direction of
Matthew David Hopkins of
360 Design Events Ltd, the gala featured the following eco-friendly designs: • Ice sculptures made of New York City tap water and carefully crafted by a local ice artisan and illuminated by low-energy fluorescent lights • Flowers from farms that have been classified under Veriflora, a certification program that provides farming standards for those who produce flowers. • A ceiling constructed of 4,000 yards of sustainable cotton, which will be donated to Materials for the Arts, a local organization that accepts donations to enhance the arts and cultural communities in New York City. • Incorporating rentals from a local rental company promotes the reuse of materials and eliminates waste. • Different hues of green linens will be integrated with a punch of white and black for tableware, chairs and cushions.
