NEW YORK-NOVEMBER 19: Francine LeFrak hosts SAME SKY—BRACELETS MADE BY WOMEN IN RWANDA at Ana Tzarev Gallery, 24 West 57th Street (between 5th and 6th Avenues), New York, NY 10019 Award winning producer/Philanthropist Francine LeFrak hosted the launch event along with Gayle Perkins Atkins, Donna D’Cruz, Grace Hightower De Niro, Patricia Duff, Somers Farkas, Donna Karan and Margo MacNabb Nederlander who were joined by the 2008 Africa Prize Laureate Janet Nkubana, Ivanka Trump, Gina Gershon and Princess Keisha Omilana. About: The launch of Same Sky, a new line of hand-crocheted, glass-beaded bracelets made by women in Rwanda. Same Sky provides employment opportunities to women artisans in Rwanda, all of whom survived the 1994 genocide. Profits from the sale of the bracelets, which start at $150 each, go to training and employing more artisans, allowing them to take the first steps out of poverty. The event will feature special guest Janet Nkubana, the Africa Prize 2008 Laureate, who spoke on what Same Sky means for women in Rwanda.
