NEW YORK-MARCH 27: The American-Scandinavian Foundation’s Annual Gala was held on Friday March 27, 2009 at The Pierre Hotel, Fifth Avenue at 61 st Street, New York City in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark. The ASF honored William McCormick Blair, Jr. and Deeda Blair, and Nikolaj Hübbe, Artistic Director, The Royal Danish Ballet. Gala Chairs are The Honorable Robin Chandler Duke, and The Honorable and Mrs. Edward E. Elson. Corporate Chair is Bernt Reitan, Executive Vice President, Alcoa; Corporate Vice Chairs are Mærsk Inc. and Luann Smith, President, Statoil North America, Inc. The evening’s emcee was Liv Ullmann, acclaimed actress and director. Proceeds benefit The American-Scandinavian Foundation’s programs of educational and cultural exchange.
