NEW YORK-MAY 13: THE LOUNGE - presented by The Salon & Edison Ballroom on Friday, May 13, 2011 at The Edison Ballroom, 240 West 47th Street, New York City, NY.

THE SALON has teamed up with the beautiful 1930′s EDISON BALLROOM to feature the best in lounge, with a spectacular lineup of live jazz and lounge bands, burlesque dancers, DJ’s and craft cocktails. Plus, there is a top-shelf open bar and hors d’oeuvres all night; THE LOUNGE perfectly evokes the glamour of classic New York City.

Known for throwing some of the best retro-inspired parties in New York City, THE SALON created this new swank event within the intimate setting of the upstairs lounge of the renovated 1930's Edison Ballroom. For dancers, The Edison Ballroom's BIG BAND NIGHT is happening simultaneously downstairs on the dance floor. Besides live music and open dancing all night by JOE BATTAGLIA AND THE NY BIG BAND (and a house Latin band), The Edison Ballroom is sponsoring a dance competition, with $7,000 in cash and prizes. Once guests have paid admission, there is no extra cost to go between the two events, or join the contests.

THE LOUNGE – complete lineup on FRIDAY, MAY 13TH featured live music by LAPIS LUNA; ANGIE PONTANI – the reigning Queen of Burlesque, Miss Exotic World; MC DANDY WELLINGTON; DJ EFFERVESCENT; and cocktails by KENNETH MCCOY of THE RUM HOUSE.

These special events for dancers, loungers and music lovers has a perfect setting in the beautifully restored 1930's EDISON BALLROOM, a legendary art-deco venue in Times Square featuring a new state-of-the-art sound system, an enormous stage, an exquisite lounge and one of the best dance floors in New York City for a total of 16,000 square feet for your dancing and lounging pleasure. With a top-shelf open bar all night and hors d'oeuvres, everything is included with admission, and we mean everything - even tips, taxes and coat check. For guests wanting to indulge in true supper-club chic, The Edison Ballroom is offering a gourmet four-course dinner by their award winning chef, with VIP reserved tables on the dance floor.

THE LOUNGE continues on FRIDAY May 20th and June 3rd at THE EDISON BALLROOM, located at 240 west 47th Street (btw Broadway & 8th Ave) and starts at 9:30pm with live music until 1am. General Admission is $45 and includes top-shelf open bar all night, hors d'oeuvres, tips and coat check. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Dinner is $125 and includes a VIP table with a prime view of the stage, four-course dinner, a top-shelf open bar all night, gratuities and coat check.
