Renowned artists William Quigley and Ben Moon hosted a special East Hampton art show called "The Pleasurists" which coincided with Art Hamptons and Art Market on Friday, July 12 at 8 p.m. The show featured first edition prints from both innovative artists as well as a special performance of ROKLYFE, an environmental, musical interactive piece by Ben Moon.
Celebrated for his Boxer and Civil War series, William Quigley is also well-known for portraits of high profile clientele and celebrities. Versatile, yet distinctive, works by Quigley include portraits of U.S. Presidents, Muhammad Ali, Audrey Hepburn, Shaquille O'Neal, and Johnny Cash just to name a few. Quigley's work will be represented by Mark Borghi, of Borghi Fine Art, who also will also be showing in Art Hamptons.
Ben Moon's original paintings and ROKLYFE will both be featured during "The Pleasurists." Its subject matter touches on nearly everything from culture and fashion, to politics, to the "nature of celebrity," as well as the ways in which technology is blurring the lines between traditional notions of "fantasy vs. reality." Original music from Moon's debut EP Rhythm Method features prominently in his latest project, ROKLYFE, which combines sonic and visual elements to create a hyper-real emotional effect.
