NEW YORK-APRIL 13: HEALTHCORPS' Fifth Annual Gala "Fresh From The Garden" on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, Pier 86 at 46th Street & 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10036. HealthCorps took its fight against child obesity to the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City for its Fifth Annual Gala, "Fresh From The Garden," on Wednesday, April 13. Heart surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz, Emmy Award-winning nationally syndicated talk show host of "The Dr. Oz Show," and his wife Lisa Oz, Co-Founders of HealthCorps, served as the event's Co-Hosts.

The Black Tie event to benefit HealthCorps honored Hollywood and philanthropic couple Deborah Lee Furness Jackman and Hugh Jackman; Russell Simmons, producer, philanthropist and wellness advocate; and Miami real-estate developer and philanthropist, Tibor Hollo. Dr. Mehmet Oz served as master of ceremonies. The Gala kicked off with a Red Carpet arrivals during the cocktail "health fair" hour followed by a seated dinner; silent and live auctions; acceptance speeches by the honorees during the dinner; and dancing until midnight. Actor and Performer Ben Vereen; Caron Wheeler, Grammy winner and former lead singer of Soul II Soul; and Broadway actor Stepp Stewart provided special performances.

Among HealthCorps supporters in attendance included Red Apple Group CEO John Catsimatidis; S.A.C. Capital Advisors Founder Steven Cohen; Celebrity Chef Rocco DiSpirito; designer Donna Karan; The Coca-Cola Company CEO Muhtar Kent; CBS Medical Correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook; former Def Jam and Warner music executive Kevin Liles; Morgan Stanley's John Mack; Former NBA Star and Philanthropist Alonzo Mourning; ESPN Anchor Jesse Palmer; Wilhelmina Model/Actor Adam Senn; and some of America's most famous physicians. Other notable guests included: Tony LoBianco, Dr. Max Gomez, Dr. Nicholas Perricone, MD, FACN, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, Star Jones, Miss Universe, Ximena Navarrete, Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford, Bollywood Star Mallika Sherawat, John Sculley, Webb Edgerton Warburton. Eturnity Band provided dance music.

Proceeds raised at the Gala will be used to establish HealthCorps in additional high schools across the country in the coming school year and reach at least 400 schools in all 50 states by 2015.
