Sunday, April 9, 2006, Central Park, New York City-- 4th annual Thomas G. Labrecque Foundation Classic: A Road Race in Central Park to Benefit Lung Cancer Research followed by a brunch at Tavern on the Green hosted by Sheila Labrecque for family and friends of the Labrecque family, including special friends from event sponsor JP Morgan Chase family. The foundation was founded in 2002 by the Labrecque family in honor of Tom’s memory. At the age of 62, Tom Labrecque, the former Chairman of Chase, a non-smoker, died from lung cancer. Tom’s family and friends initiated the Thomas G. Labrecque Classic, “Run as One” event, with the hopes of raising lung cancer awareness and vital research dollars to find a cure. This year's event with contributions from runners, walkers and sponsors raised over $2 Million.
