New Yorkers For Children Celebrates New Year’s in April: A Fool’s Fete Supported by Emanuel Ungaro. Established by the Board of Directors of NYFC in 2002, The Friends of New Yorkers For Children (The Friends Committee) has a membership of 40 young professionals who support the goals and plans of NYFC. Members of The Friends Committee help to support and participate in programs for children and young people who are in foster care, increase financial support for NYFC and expand the reach of NYFC into the young, professional communities of New York City. Each year The Friends Committee hosts New Year's in April: A Fool’s Fête, a Dinner Dance to benefit New York City’s children in foster care.
