Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City(BigsNYC) has served the changing needs of New York City’s most at-risk youth since 1904. This year’s Sidewalks Gala event was chaired by Evan R. Chesler (see also: Who'sWhoLegal Listing), Presiding Partner, Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Honorees included Brian L. Roberts, Chairman & CEO of Comcast Corporation, Michelle Ebanks, President of Essence Communications and Angela Burt-Murray, Editor-in-Chief of Essence Magazine. This year’s Achievement in Sports Award was presented to Superbowl XLII - MVP, Eli Manning. Three children who are being mentored, wore tuxedos and gowns for the first time and spoke from the stage of the Waldorf Astoria in front of more than 1,000 people. They presented the awards to this year’s honorees who are role models for the youth helped by Big Brothers Big Sisters. CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien Emceed the event.
