NCM Fathom present
A POWERFUL NOISE Live on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the
Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College, East 68th Street between Park & Lexington Avenues, New York City, NY. Simultaneously the movie played in 450 movie theaters nationwide for one night. The event began with the acclaimed documentary,
"A Powerful Noise," (Produced by Philanthropist
Sheila C. Johnson) which follows three women from different countries who overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to bring lasting solutions to their communities. Immediately following the film, a town hall discussion with humanitarian experts
Nicholas Kristof, Christy Turlington Burns, Natalie Portman, Madeleine Albright and
President of CARE USA, Dr. Helene Gayle, broadcast live to all participating theatres.
