Thursday, April 13,2006, Jacob Javits Center, NYC-- Bentley Motors, Inc. hosts the East Side House Settlement Gala Preview of the 2006 New York International Auto Show. This glamorous evening, on the eve of the opening of the New York International Auto Show to the general public, celebrated the global launch of the new Bentley Continental GTC--the long awaited convertible version of the Continental GT coupe. The gala also showcased A Convertible Chronology: The Finest Soft-Top Bentleys from the 1920's through Tomorrow and included a private preview of the entire auto show, a cocktail gala for the benefit committee, a dinner for sponsors and benefactors. A highlight of the evening was a live auction of a Bentley Continental GTC-the FIRST model to arrive in the US. The auction was adeptly, humorously and expertly run by world famous Sotheby's auctioneer, Jamie Niven. Keeping the cocktail hour flowing was the hypnotic sound generated by Society DJ extraordinnaire, Sky Nellor. The 2006 EVENT CHAIRS: Joan Young, Phil Yang & Michael Moreno. HONOREES: Roger Altman, Chairman of Evercore Partners, and Susan Lyne, President & CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., 2006 BENEFIT COMMITTEE CHAIRS: Amy Fine Collins & Alex Hitz. Joining them in support of the event was THE BENTLEY MEN'S COMMITTEE inspired by the Bentley Boys of the 1920's. The event attracted a high profile crowd of investment bankers, Bentley owners and influential leaders in fashion, arts and society. All proceeds from the event benefit East Side House Settlement.
