ASTROC Group Meeting & Dinner Preceding Paella Festival in Central Park
Saturday, September 23, 2006, Fundacion ASTROC de la Comunidad Valenciana in New York: On the eve of a Paella Festival in Rumsey Playfield in Central Park on Sunday, September 24, 2006 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. a gathering of falleras gathered in New York City and took passage by horse and carriage from the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel to The Frick Collection on 5th Avenue (at 70th Street) for a special celebratory dinner. Astroc Foundation supports the gastronomy and traditional festivities of the land of Valencia. Valencian gastronomy has a special importance with,"la paella", being among one of the regions most well known dishes. Current initiatives include the creation of the Paella Valencian Institute and in this area a "Chair of la Paella", promoting the participation of prestigious professionals in the demand and international prominence of this traditional Valencian dish.
