COUTURE FOR A CAUSE: Purses & Pursenalities Luncheon
Wednesday, September 27, 2006, 12-2PM, DOUBLES Club, Sherry Netherland Hotel, 783 Fifth Avenue, New York City, 10022 -- COUTURE FOR A CAUSE: SNAG FALLS IT BAG AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF NYCS YOUTH AT MADISONS PURSES AND PURSENALITIES LUNCHEON The Purses and Pursenalities Luncheon is an auction of designer and gently-used celebrity handbags will benefit Madison Square Boys & Girls Club's at-risk youth. The luncheon was sponsored by Eric Javits -- top designer of women's accessories -- and honored fashion-favorites Cece Cord, Cathy Hardwick and Nicole Miller. Handbags were auctioned from the personal collections of Pamela Fiori, Susan Lucci, Star Jones, Elizabeth Hasselback, and many more. New handbags have been donated for auction from Bulgari, Celine, Fendi, Gucci, Cathy Hardwick, Hermes, Kooba, J. Crew, Eric Javits, Judith Leiber, Longchamp, Nicole Miller, Badgley Mischka, Oscar de la Renta, Prada, Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade, Ungaro, Valentino, and Yves Saint Laurent � just to name a few. Committee members include: Wendy Carduner, Babette DeFelice, Jessica Forbes, Ellen Gilbertson, Christine Smith Gray, Ann Grimm, Rita Hamilton, Paige Hardy, Amy Hoadley, Rachel Hovnanian, Jocelyn Javits, Margo Langenberg, Helena Lehane, Jacque Mayfield, Suzanne McMillan, Lois Nasser, Allison Rockefeller, Tara Rockefeller, Heather Sargent, Barbara Taylor, Mary Van Pelt, and Tracy Young. Since 1884, the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club has been providing after school and summer programs for thousands of children in New York City�s most disadvantaged communities. By providing proven education, recreation and guidance programs in a safe and nurturing environment that many children consider a second home, we help our young participants lead happy, healthy and productive lives. A founding member of the Boys & Girls Club of America, Madison currently serves over 6,000 youth ages six to eighteen at seven clubhouses in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens and at Camp Madison in Kingston, New York.
