Donna Karan and Mira Nair Co-Host Benefit for Iyengar Yoga and Maisha, In Conjunction with The Namesake Premiere
Tuesday, March 6, 2007, Screening at Chelsea West Cinemas, 333 West 23rd Street between 8th & 9th Avenues, at 7 p.m. followed by a Benefit Celebration at the Stephan Weiss Studio, 711 Greenwich Street, New York City. Mira Nair and Designer Donna Karan co-hosted a special benefit evening in conjunction with the Fox Searchlight Premiere of The Namesake, based on the Novel by Jhumpa Lahiri and directed by Mira Nair; to benefit Maisha, a training program for filmmakers in East Africa and South Asia founded by Mira Nair, and the Iyenger Yoga Association of Greater New York City /IYAGNY, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the study, teaching and dissemination of yoga as taught by B.K.S.
